Heavy metals such as arsenic, chromium, lead, fluoride and mercury are highly toxic and its presence in drinking water is a key reason for various kind of diseases in human health. Removal of heavy metals and toxic ions from water is a major challenge in recent days. Various methods, materials and process are widely available, but having high cost in maintenance and processing these techniques are less utilized in large scale of water treatment. Thus in perspective of water treatment, hybrid materials and composites are most cost effective and efficient materials for removal of toxic ions and metals from water in large scale. Hence, the present work focus on development of hybrid materials and composite and its application in heavy metals and toxic ions removal from drinking water.
