Corporate Social Responsibility has gained new legitimacy in India with two recent guidelines aimed to streamline CSR in Indian public and private sector. The need for structure and systems to manage CSR is the call of the day. The new mandate calls for new thinking in planning, implementing, monitoring, evaluating and communicating CSR work across all stakeholder groups. This book is one of the first attempts to address the practical issues and managerial challenges in delivering social impact through CSR. Authoritative articles focus on issues in CSR in India while corporate case studies highlight best practices and challenges faced by Indian managers. The proposed book will be a collection of articles and case studies focussed on Corporate Social Responsibility. The content was presented in the 1st National Conference on Corporate Social Responsibility co-organized by Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai and Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar (XIMB).
