Invasive Fungal Rhinosinusitis

Incidence of invasive fungal sinusitis has been increasing over the years. Earlier it was believed that this disease is seen only in immunocompromised individuals. The understanding of its pathophysiology has improved with newer serological tests and diagnostic methods helping in earlier diagnosis and reducing patient morbidity More anti-fungal drugs are being added to the armamentarium improving incidence of patient survival. This book aims to compile all practical information about invasive fungal sinusitis into a single volume. Therefore, busy doctors will not have to perform exhaustive literature studies to diagnose invasive fungal sinusitis present. The book shall also cover an overview of diseases which could be mistaken for invasive fungal sinusitis and discuss how the management is different. For example, a patient with allergic fungal sinusitis could be mistaken for invasive fungal sinusitis and treated wrongly with anti -fungal medications instead of steroids and vice versa §Book sections will consist of clinical, microbiological, serological, pathological and pharmacological features of the disease and its management.
