This book examines the relationship between work and family in small family business in Hong Kong, based on data obtained from in-depth interviews on married couples running small retail shops. It was found that despite the perceived advantage of flexibility, running a small family business did not necessarily result in a working pattern compatible with family needs.In studies on small family business, the contribution by the wives was often overlooked.
